DR. MATTHEW COX

Dr. Ronney Tay is a native of Irvine, CA. He attended the University of California, Berkeley as a Regent’s and Chancellor’s scholar, which is the most prestigious scholarship offered to entering undergraduate students. He received his BS in Nutritional Science: Physiology and Metabolism in 2010. During his time at UC Berkeley, he developed a passion for scientific research and helping patients, which led him to pursue opportunities at UC San Francisco, studying the effects of maternal obesity in offspring behavior in mice, and sequencing candidate genes for patients with corpus callosum agenesis. Dr. Tay continued his education at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he obtained his DMD degree. While in dental school, he was selected to present his research on oral squamous cell carcinoma at the American Association for Dental Research and Greater New York Dental Meetings. After graduation from dental school, Dr. Tay practiced in Sacramento, California as a general dentist for 4 years, where he gained clinical proficiency in cutting edge dental technology, including 3D printing, digital dentistry, guided dental implant placement, cosmetic dentistry and CEREC. It was during this time as a general dentist that Dr. Tay developed a deep interest in endodontics. Dr. Tay went on to specialize in endodontics at the University of California, San Francisco, where he served as chief resident and published an article in the Journal of Endodontics titled “Clinical and Histological Evaluation of Tissue Healing in Beveled or Perpendicular Vertical Releasing Incision” When he is not in the office, Dr. Tay enjoys spending time with his wife, two young children and dog and rooting for his fantasy football team.
